This is Ina’s husband. Tkiyè. This is a nickname that means “Little Spoon”. He’s beating pwa kongo with a stick, and doesn’t know I took this picture. I just love the guy. Every morning he takes me through the basic Haitian morning pleasantries. “So! How did you sleep?” And “Now you are drinking coffee.” Or perhaps. “You are brushing your teeth.” Or, “You are sweeping your porch.” He and Ina are perpetual motion machines.
