The Paths of Desire

Jupiter

For every rock there is a hard place
the paths of desire lie between

the rock is deep silent stone
water worn smooth broken bone

sand where there is no water
where there once was stone

wind, water, sand carry away
what cannot stand and let it lie

layered gravities rainbow
of shifting drifted shadows

the forms of cause
effects of time out of mind

wander amidst the stone
uncover the paths of desire

in the wind in the water
in the sand waiting to be worn

in the silent stone
