BOURBON BALLS

2 1/2 cups finely crushed, rolled, or whirled-in-blender vanilla wafers
1 cup confectioners sugar
1 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans, lightly toasted
1 12-oz package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup bourbon, more or less to taste (can use rum or brandy as well)
Confectioners sugar for rolling cookies

Mix the ingredients in the order given. Let stand a few minutes then form into balls 1-inch in diameter and roll in confectioners sugar. Store in well-covered container packed between sheets of wax paper or foil for a day or two to ripen before serving. For keeping long periods, store in refrigerator or freezer.
