ing seen a large number of thier progenitors and kin. By this very lack of information regarding the characteristics of the progenitors of most borzoi, American and English fanciers have been "up against" an almost insurmountable abstacle to good breeding. In this connection wwe might mention that we secured the pedigree of Ch. Imp. Marksman and the Duchess of Newcastle's Ch. Imp. Tzaritza, a fact which should interest a large percentage of English and american fanciers.

Bred by M. Artem Boldareff. Showing the wonderful coat for which the Woronzova kennels are famous.

A Later Importation.

In 1904 Mr. Joseph B. Thomas, accompanied by Mr. Ralph H. Thomas, again visited Russia and was so fortunate as to secure four more borzoi, quite equal if not superior to the hounds of the initial importation:

Nenagladni of Perchina, now Champion, measuring 33 inches at the shoulder, nearly white; the best outlined dog yet seen here.

Nayada of Perchina, now Champion, measuring 30 inches at the shoulder, nearly white, litter sister to Nenagladni.

Schaloste of Perchina, measuring 27 inches at the shoulder, white with light tan markings.

Rasskida of Woronzova measuring 29 inches at the shoulder, pure white, dam of Champion Sorva of Woronzova.

The most famous Borzoi bitch in the world.
Champion Sorva of Woronzova, dam of the wonderful champion Sorvan o'Valley Farm.

A prediction of 1904.

The young stock already produced in the Valley Farm Kennels from their Russian importations is recognized as being most remarkable and the kennels predict that certain of the produce will prove even superior to their parents, furthermore they predict that in two years time every well-known winner in America in both the American bred and Open classes will trace its breeding to the stock now owned by the Valley Farm Kennels. For results see show ring record.
